What You Need to Know
Prescription sunglasses are treated the same as regular prescription glasses and are fully HSA-eligible. Non-prescription sunglasses typically do not qualify. However, if your doctor prescribes specific UV-protective eyewear for a medical condition (such as after cataract surgery), those may qualify with a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN).
What Qualifies

- ●Non-prescription sunglasses are generally not eligible
- ●UV-protective eyewear prescribed for a medical condition may qualify
